GIVING BACK

Christ has no Body now but yours
No Hands
No Feet on earth but yours.
Yours are the eyes through which He looks compassion on the earth
Yours are the feet through which He walks to do good.
(Prayer of Saint Teresa of Avila)

A big thank you to the parishioners of St Thomas More who donated gifts for the less fortunate children of our parish. God bless you all. The presents were distributed by St Vincent de Paul.

This year’s Spring Clean was held on 24th September and was a great success.

Thank you to those people who volunteer to help the elderly in our parish. The jobs included washing windows, weeding gardens, moving furniture, changing light bulbs and cleaning.

What really surprised us was that it was not only the people that were helped that received something that they were grateful for, but the volunteers received even more. The gift of giving is the greatest gift of all. Thank you Jesus for your guidance.

The day started with Mass at 9am then it was all hands on deck. Volunteers then headed off for their assigned jobs. The day finished with prayers, a bbque and time to share experiences of the day with each other. I am in awe of the people in our parish. We are truly blessed with generous people.

We intend for this event to be an annual one, so keep an eye out on the web site, parish magazine and our newsletter for dates around this time next year.

How and why we should say the Rosary.

Catholics who say the rosary in a group, or, individually before the Blessed Sacrament, may gain a plenary indulgence under the usual conditions, which includes prayer for the intentions of the Holy Father, reconciliation within 8 days of prayer and no attachement to sin.
