On Sunday 6th November at 2.30pm, . The Bishops Commission of Social Justice  is holding an election forum at St Thomas More Church. We  have invited  local candidates to come and answer some of our concerns as Catholics and  where their party stands on certain issues.

We are inviting you, parishioners, to meet with us to formulate questions around issues that may concern you remembering our Bishops theme for Social Justice Week “A Level Playing Field”. Bishop Browne will be in attendance as will a representative
from Caritas.

DATES FOR OUR MEETING:

Monday 3 Oct 7.30pm and after Mass on Sunday 9 Oct. There is a folder in the Church Foyer to leave your name  telephone no and email to show your interest.  The National Party have declined to attend our meeting. Labour, Greens, New Zealand First have accepted and we are awaiting response from The Kiwi Party, Maori Party and will be watching out for any further candidates from the minor parties.  Dolores Flynn-Edge

"Who is Amnesty International?... Everyone who has ever written a letter asking for the release of a prisoner of conscience ... Every name on every petition counts" (Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech 1977).
